Helping Families Improve Sleep Through Nutrition, Health, Emotional Wellbeing, and Individualized Support

Georgina Windebank, Holistic Sleep ConsultantMeet Georgina Windebank, qualified naturopath and nutritionist, Holistic Child Sleep Consultant, host of The Holistic Baby and Toddler Sleep Podcast, mother, and the professional behind The Holistic Sleep Project in Australia.

Based in Albury/Wodonga, Georgina works with families both locally and internationally, helping parents navigate newborn, baby, and toddler sleep through a gradual, highly personalized approach that considers far more than bedtime alone.

As a graduate of the International Parenting & Health Institute’s Holistic Pregnancy & Child Sleep Consultant Certification Program, Georgina has built a practice that brings together her background in natural health, nutrition, parent wellbeing, and holistic sleep support.

Her philosophy is rooted in a simple but important idea: when a child is struggling with sleep, the answer may involve many interconnected factors—from nutrition and feeding to health, routine, emotional wellbeing, birth experiences, sleep environment, and the needs of the family as a whole.

A Personal Journey Into Sleep

Georgina’s interest in sleep began close to home.

She describes herself as someone who had never been a particularly strong sleeper, so when her son was born, she approached his sleep proactively. Drawing on her training as a naturopath, she explored the different factors that could help create healthier sleep patterns and an age-appropriate routine. As other mothers began asking her what she was doing differently, a new professional path began to emerge.

That experience ultimately led Georgina into professional baby and toddler sleep consulting.

Today, she combines her personal understanding of sleep challenges with her professional background to support families in a way that is gentle, gradual, and individualized.

A Foundation in Naturopathy and Nutrition

One of the most distinctive aspects of Georgina’s work is her background as a qualified naturopath and nutritionist.

She holds a Bachelor of Health Science in naturopathy and nutrition, giving her an additional lens through which to consider the many physiological and lifestyle factors that can influence children’s sleep. She also holds a Bachelor of Communication in Public Relations, an Advanced Diploma of Business Marketing, a Certificate in Media Sales, and Level 3 First Aid certification.

Her naturopathic background allows her to explore areas such as:

rather than treating sleep as a stand-alone nighttime behavior. Her current sleep packages even include review of a child’s diet and feeding schedule as part of individualized sleep support.

A Truly Holistic Approach to Sleep

Through The Holistic Sleep Project, Georgina uses what she calls a 5 Stages to Successful Sleep Approach, designed to identify the different factors preventing a newborn, baby, or toddler from sleeping well.

Those factors can include the sleep environment, nutrition, milk and solid feeding schedules, the child’s individual routine, and the way a parent is feeling and responding to their child.

Her approach also considers the parent’s emotional wellbeing and may explore experiences beginning in pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period when relevant to the family’s current sleep challenges.

Rather than applying one standard formula to every family, Georgina creates individualized plans around the child’s personality, sleep challenges, family lifestyle, and specific goals.

Supporting Newborns, Babies, Toddlers, and Parents

Georgina works primarily with families navigating newborn, baby, and toddler sleep.

Her services include one-on-one sleep support, individualized sleep plans, shorter consultations, and educational resources for common challenges such as night waking, early rising, catnapping, bedtime resistance, and feeding-related sleep difficulties.

Her work also recognizes the impact poor sleep can have on parents themselves, including exhaustion, anxiety, irritability, relationship strain, and difficulty coping emotionally.

This whole-family perspective is an important part of what distinguishes her practice.

Educating Families Beyond One-on-One Consulting

Georgina’s impact extends beyond private consultations.

She is the host of The Holistic Baby and Toddler Sleep Podcast, where she discusses child sleep, naturopathic parenting, nutrition, routines, maternal wellbeing, and holistic family health.

Her educational resources also include guides focused on:

Through her podcast, downloads, guest appearances, and educational content, she helps parents gain the knowledge and confidence to better understand their children’s changing sleep needs.

Recognition for Her Work

Georgina’s work has also received international recognition.

Her website identifies her as an international award-winning baby sleep coach and notes that The Holistic Baby and Toddler Sleep Podcast received recognition at the 2024 AusMumpreneur Awards. She was also recognized at the Women Changing the World International Business Awards in London, receiving Bronze in the Woman in Health & Wellbeing category in 2024.

These honors reflect the growing reach of her work in sleep, maternal wellbeing, and family health.

Bringing Naturopathy and Holistic Sleep Together

Perhaps the strongest theme running through Georgina’s work is integration.

Sleep is not separated from food.

Child health is not separated from family health.

The baby’s wellbeing is not separated from the parent’s emotional experience.

Her work demonstrates how naturopathy, nutrition, sleep education, and family support can work together to create a more comprehensive understanding of why sleep challenges are occurring and what may help a particular family.

That interdisciplinary perspective aligns naturally with the philosophy of IPHI’s Holistic Science of Sleep Method™.
