Supporting Babies and Families Through Clinical Expertise, Compassion, and Holistic Care

Seda Ozcan, RN, Holistic Pregnancy & Child Sleep ConsultantMeet Seda Özcan, Registered Nurse, Lactation Consultant, founder of Expert Mother’s Guide (Uzman Anne Rehberi), and graduate of the International Parenting & Health Institute’s Holistic Pregnancy & Child Sleep Consultant Certification Program.

With a professional career spanning neonatal intensive care, maternity care, pediatric neurology, developmental assessment, breastfeeding support, and holistic sleep consulting, Seda has dedicated her career to helping babies and families thrive during the earliest and most important years of life.

Her unique combination of clinical nursing experience and holistic sleep education allows her to support families with a comprehensive understanding of infant development, feeding, attachment, neurological health, and sleep.

Discovering Holistic Sleep

Working in neonatal intensive care units, newborn nurseries, maternity wards, and pediatric neurology gave Seda a front-row seat to the many challenges families experience during infancy.

She recognized that sleep could never be viewed in isolation.

Healthy sleep is deeply connected to feeding, neurological development, emotional security, parent-child attachment, developmental milestones, and family well-being.

Seeking an approach that looked beyond schedules and behaviors alone, Seda completed the Holistic Pregnancy & Child Sleep Consultant Certification Program through the International Parenting & Health Institute (IPHI), where she studied the Holistic Science of Sleep Method™.

This evidence-informed, whole-person philosophy aligned naturally with her nursing background and strengthened her ability to support families through individualized, developmentally appropriate care.

Building an Interdisciplinary Practice

In 2017, Seda founded Expert Mother’s Guide (Uzman Anne Rehberi) to provide families with compassionate, evidence-informed support throughout early parenthood.

Today she works with families both in person and online, helping parents navigate not only healthy sleep but also breastfeeding, infant development, neurological considerations, and parent education.

She has extensive experience supporting both typically developing children and children with additional needs, including:

• Epilepsy

• Cerebral palsy

• Developmental delays

Her philosophy is beautifully summarized by her belief that:

“Contact, trust, sleep, and bonding are inseparable.”

A Commitment to Lifelong Learning

One of the most impressive aspects of Seda’s career is her unwavering commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.

Alongside her nursing degree, she has pursued extensive education across infant development, maternal-child health, developmental neuroscience, breastfeeding, and family well-being.

Her advanced training includes:

Early in her career, Seda also completed professional education in:

These educational experiences strengthened her understanding of children’s safety, emotional well-being, healthy development, and the importance of supporting families through compassionate, informed care.

Her commitment to lifelong learning also extends internationally through university coursework, including:

Together, these diverse educational experiences have shaped Seda into a clinician and educator who approaches every family with a broad, interdisciplinary understanding of infant development, attachment, sleep, health, and overall family wellness.

An Inspiration for Future Sleep Consultants

Seda’s professional journey demonstrates the tremendous value of integrating clinical healthcare with holistic education.

Her work reminds us that supporting healthy infant sleep is not simply about helping babies sleep, it is about nurturing healthy development, strengthening parent-child relationships, supporting breastfeeding, understanding neurological development, and empowering families through compassionate guidance.

Through Expert Mother’s Guide, she continues to help families build healthy foundations that support children well beyond infancy.
