Promoting “Peaceful Sleep” Through Family Support, Food, Community, and Compassion

Manami Suzuki, Holistic Pregnancy, Child and Teen Sleep ConsultantMeet Manami Suzuki, founder of Peaceful Sleep, family sleep and wellness educator, community advocate, and graduate of the International Parenting & Health Institute’s Holistic Pregnancy & Child Sleep Consultant and Holistic Children & Teen Sleep Coach Certification Programs.

Based in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, Manami’s journey into sleep coaching began not through professional ambition, but through personal experience. After enduring ten years of infertility, the birth of her son brought immense joy—but it also introduced unexpected challenges. Like many parents, she found herself navigating sleepless nights, endless crying, and overwhelming exhaustion.

Those difficult experiences ultimately became the catalyst for a mission that now extends far beyond sleep itself.

A Personal Journey That Changed Everything

While searching for answers, Manami discovered the work of Japan’s first infant sleep consultant, Aya Aiba. Reading her educational articles gave her hope, and after courageously booking a private consultation, everything changed.

With compassionate guidance and evidence-informed support, her family experienced meaningful improvements in sleep and Manami experienced something equally important: hope.

That experience inspired a profound realization:

“Families need compassionate sleep consultants.”

Motivated to help other parents experience the same transformation, she completed the Holistic Pregnancy & Child Sleep Consultant Certification Program through the International Parenting & Health Institute (IPHI) in 2018 and later expanded her education by completing the Holistic Children & Teen Sleep Coach Certification Program in 2026.

Building a Mission Around “Peaceful Sleep”

Today, through Peaceful Sleep, Manami supports families from pregnancy through early childhood, helping parents understand healthy sleep through compassionate, individualized guidance.

Her work extends beyond consultations. She also serves her community by presenting sleep seminars for parents and educational talks for children, including her role as a 2026 guest lecturer at Toyokawa City Otowa Nursery School.

For Manami, sleep is not simply about bedtime routines—it is about creating the conditions that allow children and families to flourish physically, emotionally, and socially.

Where Sleep, Food, and Community Come Together

One of the most unique aspects of Manami’s work is her belief that joyful daily experiences contribute to healthy sleep.

As a certified Indian Cuisine Sommelier, Indian Food Culture Advisor, Ayurveda Advisor, and curry educator, she teaches spice curry classes that celebrate the joy of preparing and sharing nourishing meals together.

Her philosophy is beautifully simple:

“I want children to go to bed thinking, ‘Today was fun. Today was delicious.'”

By nurturing connection through food, community, and shared experiences, she helps families build healthy routines that support emotional well-being alongside healthy sleep.

Sleep as a Pathway to Peace

Perhaps the most inspiring part of Manami’s journey is the vision that guides everything she does.

After reading the picture books Peace and War by Shuntaro Tanikawa and What Is Peace? by Keiko Hamada, she was deeply moved by illustrations of babies peacefully sleeping, regardless of nationality, background, or circumstance.

That image became the foundation of her life’s mission:

“No matter where you live or what environment you are in, I want everyone to experience peaceful sleep.”

Her commitment to peace extends beyond words.

A portion of every spice curry class supports charitable initiatives that provide assistance to individuals and communities in need. Inspired by volunteer experiences in Thailand and years of witnessing the resilience of women overcoming extraordinary hardship, Manami continues to use her work as a way to create hope, not only for families in Japan, but for people around the world.

A Commitment to Lifelong Learning

Manami’s dedication to supporting families is reflected in her diverse education, including:

Her interdisciplinary approach recognizes that healthy sleep is influenced by nutrition, emotional connection, community support, and the everyday experiences that help children feel safe, connected, and joyful.
