Supporting Families Through Sleep, Parent Coaching & Emotional Wellness
Meet Cindy Davies of Armada, Michigan, founder of the Holistic Parenting & Sleep Center, Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist, Parent Coach, and graduate of the International Parenting & Health Institute’s Holistic Pregnancy & Child Sleep Consultant Certification Program.
Every professional has a story that shapes the way they serve others. For Cindy, that story began not in a classroom or clinic, but in her own home as a mother searching for answers.
After the birth of her second son, Cindy found herself navigating the same exhaustion, frustration, and uncertainty experienced by countless parents whose children struggle with sleep. She immersed herself in books, researched popular sleep training methods, spoke with pediatricians, hired two different sleep consultants, and explored nearly every resource she could find.
Despite her efforts, something still felt incomplete.
While many approaches focused on changing a child’s behavior, few explored the many biological, emotional, developmental, and environmental factors that influence healthy sleep.
That search ultimately led her to the work of Mar De Carlo, Founder of the International Parenting & Health Institute (IPHI).
It was a turning point.
Discovering a Holistic Philosophy
Rather than viewing sleep as an isolated issue to be “fixed,” Cindy discovered a philosophy that considered the whole child—and the whole family.
Through IPHI’s Holistic Science of Sleep Method™, she learned to evaluate sleep through multiple interconnected lenses, including attachment, child development, nutrition, emotional regulation, family dynamics, temperament, environmental influences, and overall wellness.
For Cindy, this comprehensive approach finally helped explain why conventional methods had failed to address her son’s unique needs.
More importantly, it transformed her own family’s experience.
Inspired by the difference it made in her life, she completed the Holistic Pregnancy & Child Sleep Consultant Certification Program through the International Parenting & Health Institute, equipping her to help other families with the same compassionate, individualized philosophy that had helped her.
Building a Career Rooted in Connection
Cindy’s passion for supporting families extends far beyond sleep.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Kalamazoo College before completing a Master of Arts in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling Psychology from Antioch University.
She also became:
- Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist (BC-DMT)
- Certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International
- Certified Happiest Baby on the Block® Educator
- Applied Depths Coaching Practitioner
Her professional experience includes working with:
- Children and families in foster care
- Parents of twins and triplets
- Individuals experiencing perinatal and postpartum mood disorders
- Creative movement groups for parents and caregivers
- Families seeking holistic, relationship-centered support
This diverse background allows Cindy to bring exceptional depth and compassion to every family she serves.
Expanding Beyond Sleep
As Cindy’s practice evolved, she noticed a recurring theme.
Many parents weren’t simply looking for better sleep.
They were seeking reassurance.
They wanted someone to truly listen.
They needed encouragement, validation, and practical guidance while navigating one of life’s most demanding seasons.
Recognizing this need, Cindy expanded her services in 2021 by becoming an Applied Depths Coaching Practitioner, allowing her to offer parent coaching alongside holistic sleep support.
Today, through the Holistic Parenting & Sleep Center, she helps families strengthen confidence, reduce overwhelm, improve sleep, and build healthier relationships—always recognizing that every child and every family is wonderfully unique.
Her work reflects the belief that lasting change comes not from rigid formulas, but from understanding the whole person.
Creating Lasting Impact
Families who work with Cindy benefit from a thoughtful blend of psychology, movement therapy, parent coaching, emotional wellness, and holistic sleep education.
Rather than relying on one-size-fits-all solutions, she creates individualized plans that honor each family’s parenting philosophy, values, and goals.
Her calm, compassionate approach helps parents move beyond simply managing sleep challenges toward creating stronger family connections and greater confidence in their parenting journey.
An Inspiration for Future Holistic Sleep Consultants
Cindy’s story is a beautiful reminder that some of the most impactful professionals are inspired by their own lived experiences.
What began as a mother’s search for answers has grown into a career dedicated to helping families feel seen, supported, and empowered.
By combining psychology, dance and movement therapy, perinatal mental health, parent coaching, and holistic sleep education, Cindy demonstrates how an interdisciplinary approach can create meaningful, lasting change for children and parents alike.
Her work embodies the philosophy that sleep is not simply about bedtime, it is deeply connected to emotional well-being, family relationships, development, and overall health.
