Accreditation

The International Parenting and Health Institute™ (IPHI) provides cutting edge, evidenced based educational programs, products and services for parenting and health holistic professionals. Our educational continuum is designed
to support and uphold the highest holistic professional standards.

ACCREDITATION STATEMENT
Accreditation is not required in the United States for Vocational Schools or Universities to legally operate as diploma or degree-awarding institutions. In the US, accreditation with an independent association of schools is an optional, not mandatory, course of action that Academies and Universities can choose to establish. Most countries do not have independent University accreditation organizations; rather, assessment is performed by a government educational regulating organization, similar to our California State Education Bureau which grants legality.
The US Department of Education (USDE) does not grant accreditation, furthermore, accreditation organizations in the US are not USDE governed. The US accreditation organizations are private institutionalized boards which grant a peer-review status of “accreditation” to Schools who choose to submit to their board review process. Most countries do not have private organizations which review and approve Academies, Vocational Schools or Universities as “accredited.” The biggest benefit of accreditation is the ease of opportunity for students to apply for government financial aide.
Note: Transfer of credits between all schools, whether accredited or State approved, is always dictated by the policies of each school office of the registrar.

Why are the parenting, sleep, health and life coaching industries not officially regulated by any specific set of standards?

In the United States, coaching isn’t regulated by any state or federal agency. There is no licensing requirement for the various specialized parenting and health coaching professions like there is for medical doctors or therapists. As a result, while we have sought to become accredited through a few organizations, to ensure high professional standards and best practices, all of our professionals follow our code of ethics and scope and boundaries to practice in addition to being required to state up to date with their education via certification renewal every two years.

Our Accreditation

Various organizations offer accreditation of schools, however this does not fully guarantee the quality of the program or the successful outcome of the coach. Therefore both theory and practice are included in all of our programs which require a mimimum of 85 and maximum of 1000 hours of professional training as well as continuous program review and updates; and partcipant surveys and evaluations.

IPHI has chosen to become accredited with the following organizations below.

What Makes a Certification Valuable?

Certification programs ensure the competence of parenting and health professionals. Certification programs establish standards for parenting and health education and play an important role in developing a qualified professional. The certification of a parenting and health professional affirms a knowledge and experience base in their field, their employers, and the public at large. Certification represents a declaration of a particular individual’s professional competence.
